Victron SmartShunt 500 IP65 Battery Monitor with Bluetooth

Victron's new SmartShunt IP65 is an IP65 water-resistant all-in-one battery monitor without a dedicated display; your smartphone or tablet acts as the display when connected via Bluetooth through the free VictronConnect app.

The SmartShunt IP65's water resistance rating makes it excellent for installation in vented battery boxes or other environments where it will not be subjected to direct spray but may encounter a degree of moisture or humidity that could prove problematic for the classic SmartShunt or other battery monitors.

The SmartShunt IP65 connects via Bluetooth to the VictronConnect app on your phone (or tablet) and you can conveniently read out all monitored battery parameters such as state of charge, time to go, historical information and much more. Alternatively, like all Victron battery monitors, the SmartShunt IP65 can be connected to and read by a GX device; wired connection to the SmartShunt is made via a VE.Direct cable.

The SmartShunt or the SmartShunt IP65 is a good alternative to a BMV-7xx battery monitor in systems where battery monitoring is needed but less wiring and clutter is wanted and a dedicated display is not required or where a GX device is installed.

The SmartShunt IP65 is equipped with Bluetooth, has a VE.Direct port and an auxiliary connection that can be used to monitor the voltage of a second battery, or for midpoint monitoring, or to connect the optional BMV temperature sensor.

Main differences of the SmartShunt IP65 compared to the BMV-712 Battery Monitor:
- No dedicated display

- No visual and audible alarm (alarms are only visible via the VictronConnect app or connected GX device)

- No programmable relay

- Water resistant

- The shunt is attached to the battery monitor unit
